Asian Development Bank (ADB) Managing Director General Woochong Um highlighted the importance of integrity in ADB’s policies and practices and the key role personnel play in maintaining integrity in the bank’s operations during ADB’s 11th International Anticorruption Day celebration on 9 December 2021. With the theme, Integrity: Enforcement and Impact, European Investment Bank Inspector-General Jan Willem van der Kaaij, former European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Chief Compliance Officer Lisa Rosen, and Hughes Hubbard & Reed Partner Christine Kang discussed multilateral development banks' (MDB) integrity enforcement frameworks, their positive impacts, areas of improvement, and the role of MDB personnel in its successful implementation.
On 24 November 2021, ADB's Office of Anticorruption and Integrity hosted a knowledge-sharing session on ADB
sanctions with EAs and IAs. Attended by
263 participants, the session shared lessons learned from past ADB projects and demonstrated how to get access to and utilize ADB’s Complete Sanctions List.
On 2 December 2021, ADB's Office of Anticorruption and Integrity released its eighth iACT, iTalk video featuring Transparency International's Head of Global Health Jonathan Cushing. He discussed three best practices that can mitigate integrity risks in vaccine programs amidst the global rush to immunize populations.
